In Tripping Over Myself we see Shaun's journey from a gangly, bespectacled nerd to TV stardom.

Comedy has been Shaun’s escape, his guiding light, his refuge, his passport, his lifebuoy, his drug, his mask. But it’s not everything. In his nearly thirty-year career as a comedian, he’s never thought to write about himself and even though he’s played a character with his own name, it was never really him.
